Shipping MethodWhen buying a product you will be asked to choose a shipping method. To make ordering as quick and as efficient as possible, we have a simple but comprehensive arrangement of default shipping methods to choose from to give you the best value shipping for your order. These options include Special Delivery and Worldwide Shipping. Please choose your shipping method carefully or you may incur a delay in dispatching your order as we will then have to contact you directly. All consumer shipping prices include VAT and packing, Trade shipping prices exclude VAT. *Please contact us by phone or email if you need to know the weight of your order, we can work this out accurately for you.

Please note: Any items longer than 0.6m will be sent by carrier and will incur an extra shipping charge. Where our carrier has a surcharge for delivery to Highlands and Islands we will use post where possible, where we are unable to the surcharge will be passed on to the customer. Soft items such as rope will be coiled to be less than 0.6m where possible. The Royal Mail and the various other shipping companies we use alter their charges regularly, all postal and shipping prices, terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. Welcome To The Baseline Online StoreThis website features a fully searchable online catalogue and a state-of-the-art shopping cart sortware which draws data from a regularly updated an SQL database of over 6000 Baseline products. It is a much more accurate catalogue than the printed version, as it can be updated with new products and prices as they happen, instantly. Finding The Products You RequireYou can use the search bar that is always at the top of the page to find specific products. The search works with product names, descriptions, part numbers and keywords. It will display products the are 'like' your search enquiry. For example if you type in the word 'bolt', it will return all products with the word 'bolt' in the name, keyword or description. If you enter an incomplete part number, it will return only the products with complete part numbers. If you cannot find the specific products you need, we also have a site map which can be used to quickly find all of our indexed sub-categories. Browsing ProductsClick on the 'Products' link in the top navigation to go to the main product categories page, where you can narrow your search down through 2 levels of sub-category until you find the products you need. Alternatively ou can use the fly-out category menu on the left hand side of every page. Baseline products are divided into product 'groups', for example all drop nose pins are grouped together. Our product groups are represented with a data table where you can click the 'view' button and be directed to an extended description page of the product you need. The extended description page will give you many more details about the product such as manufacturer, detailed technical data, PDFs (if available), product features and a 'Buy' button. Wishlist and Saving CartsThe 'wishlist' and 'save cart' facilities allow you save products and shopping carts so you can go back to your order at any time in the future. Think of the product wishlist as a 'virtual shopping list', which is stored on our database so you can come back and review the products you looked at a later date, on any computer. To place a product in your product wishlist, click on the 'Add product to wishlist' link on the main product page. To review your product wishlist you can do so through the 'My Account' or 'Customer Service' links, and click on 'Wishlist Products'. There is also a wishlist for shopping carts, which allows you to save your cart contents to our database so you can review the order from any computer. The link to save your cart to the wishlist appears on the view cart page, and can be reviewed by clicking on the 'Wishlist View' link on Customer Service or My Account pages. You must be signed in first to use the wishlist facilty. You can also simply save your cart to your own computer, so you do not have to be logged in to review your cart at a later time. Saved carts are stored on your own PC as a cookie and not on our database, and therefore we cannot review your saved cart, only you can do that. To save a cart to your computer, click on the 'Save this cart your computer' link on the shopping cart page. A saved cart be stored on your PC for up to a year, and you can edit it, delete or restore the order at any time. If you delete the cookies on your PC, you will lose your saved carts. You do not have to be signed in to use the save cart facility. Alternatively to save the cart on our database for one year, click on the 'Save to cart to your wishlist' link instead. VATAs a private customer, all prices displayed are retail and include VAT at the current rate. If you live in the Channel Islands VAT will be deduced from your order at time of processing. For trade customers with a trade log in prices are displayed Ex Vat, please call us on for 01489 576349 for up to date trade prices. How To OrderThis extended product page will you give you the option to 'Buy' - which simply means you will add the item to your shopping cart - you will not be required to pay for the product at this stage. Enter the quantity of the item you need into the small box on the left of the 'Buy' button (you can always change the quantity later). This will save the order to your shopping cart, and your choice will appear in the 'Shopping Cart' window in the top right-hand side of the webpage. You can empty, review or save your cart at any time. You can change your product quantity, remove an item and continue shopping while using your shopping cart. You do need to be logged in to use the shopping cart, although you will need to log in or register as new customer when you are ready to pay for your items. Our site uses session cookies to save your cart items, so please make sure cookies are allowed on your browser. When you are ready to pay, click 'Proceed to Checkout' at the shopping cart page, where you will be forwarded to log-in or register for an account. You may log-in using your email address and a unqiue, easy-to-remember password of your choosing. New customers can simply create a new account during the ordering process where you will be forwarded to a registration form. If you are having problems using the shopping cart, please make sure 'cookies' are enabled on your web browser (for example Internet Explorer or Firefox). Some AOL browser users find they cannot save items to their shoppoing cart - this is due to AOL not accepting the harmless cookies that our shopping cart needs to operate. If you are experiencing difficulties using AOL, please enable cookies for our weebsite, or temporarily lower the security level of your AOL browser, or use an alternative browser while you order from us, for example Internet Explorer or Firefox. Register And Log InIf you are a new customer you must create an account before you may enter the SSL secure area and pay for your products. You can register a new account without purchasing anything by clicking the 'Register' link at the top right hand corner of the webpage. You will also be asked to register when you click the 'Proceed to Checkout' button in the shopping cart. On the registration form, you will be asked to enter details which Baseline will use to process and deliver your order efficiently. You will not enter any payment information at this stage, and none or your personal information will passed on to third parties, nor will you be spammed. You will be asked to choose a password, which should be a minimum of 6 characters long and should be comprised of both letters and numerals to make the password as secure as possible. Please keep your password safe to allow quick sign in on your next visit. It may be possible to retrieve your password if you lose it. Our webstore account is not a trade account. Trade customers who wish to shop for products online will be required to create a web account as normal and their trade status will be recognized when the order is processed. Agreed trade pricing and invoicing will be adjusted accordingly by Baseline staff. Newletters and Mailing ListYou can opt into our mailing list at registration, where you will receive periodical promotional email newletters in HTML format advertising Baseline products and Special Offers which you may find useful. If these offers are not of interest, you may opt out of the mailing list any time. Paying For Your ProductsAfter you have registered and/or logged in, you will be directed to a payment page, which will give you the cart total including postage cost. This is a final chance to make sure your order details and shipping method are correct before being taken to our secure SSL encrypted pages to make payment. Cards Are The Easiest Way To PayWe prefer payment by card as it is secure and we accept Visa, Mastercard, Visa Electron, Solo, Switch, Delta, JCB and Maestro. Our website uses full SSL encryption for safe online ordering. When paying by card, you will be prompted to choose a payment method and enter your card details, which we will use to process your order. This is done in an SSL secured environment and you can confirm this by checking for the small padlock symbol which should be visible somewhere in your web browser window like this one in Internet Explorer 6 and by the web address prefix 'https'. For safety reasons we do not store any credit card details on our database. You can also pay by cheque, note when paying by cheque we will not process your until payment has cleared. We only accept UK cheques and please allow us extra time to process your order when paying this way. Paying By PhoneYou can call us on 01489 576349 with your name and order number and pay using your credit or debit card, and you can also fax your order through to us on 01489 578835. If you are paying by cheque, by phone or by fax, it is your responsibility to ensure prompt payment. We cannot dispatch goods until payment has been made and has cleared. Final Shipping and DispatchIf your order is received before 12pm weekdays we can usually dispatch your order the same day. If we do not have any of your items in stock they may go on 'backorder' which could incur a delay - we will usually notify you by email or phone if this is the case. We only operate dispatch during office hours, and depending on your shipping method and delivery location, orders can take anywhere from 24 hours to 5 working days to arrive from time of dispatch.
